I'm sure the term "No Guts, No Glory" originated on the battlefield. But it could have easily come from Wall St. or Main St. When the economy is doing well, people do well. But when the economy is doing poorly, some people get rich. They get rich by buying the things that nobody wants. They do that knowing full well that eventually, people will want those things again. And that's when those people get rich because they sell when something is in demand. Most people do it the other way around... they buy when everyone is buying and sell when everyone is selling. That's not the way to make money. So find something that is not in demand right now and buy it. When it is in demand again, sell. Right now, that thing is real estate. A Heads Up Tip...Home buyers that purchase a home in 2010 are allowed to claim their credit on their 2009 tax returns. In order to claim the credit the contract must be dated no later than April 30, 2010 with the transaction consummated no later than June 30, 2010. If tax returns have already been filed, an amended return may be sent in to receive the credit in the same year.
Keep in mind that there are income limitations. Right now, there is a $125,000 limit for a single filers and $225,000 for joint filers but this drops down to $75,000 and $150,000 after January 1, 2010.
